 Yellow Zucchini A mid-season variety (50-55 days from transplantation). The compact bush grows to 15 (40 cm) tall. Yellow-orange, cylindrical zucchini weighing up to 35 oz (1 kg). The fruit has dense, smooth skin with a creamy, tender, and juicy pulp, and high carotene content. Used fresh, for cooking and pickling.Planting instructions:  It is better to start preparing seeds for planting by selecting quality seeds. To do this, seeds, in small portions, stirring, sprinkle in 3-5% salt solution. Large and high-quality seeds settle to the bottom, and those that have surfaced must be discarded. Drowned seeds must be washed under running water and dried.  Dry zucchini seeds need to be warmed up at a temperature of 120-140°F (50-60 C) for 5-6 hours. This process is needed to remove seeds from a state of hibernation. Zucchini likes well-drained, fertile soil thats been amended with lots of compost. Plant seed outdoors when the soil temperature has reached 60°F (15 C)—about a week after the last frost. You want to give your squash a lot of room to spread out and grow. Plant them about 3 to 4 feet (1-2 m) apart in rows 8 to 12 feet (2-4 m) apart. If space is limited, put up a trellis for vertical support. Zucchini like consistently moist soil. To prevent problems with dis ease, always water from below. Spray plants with compost tea two weeks after seedlings come up. Spray again in three weeks or when the first flowers appear.
